Spring Summer 2011 Tassels?

Whilst the spring/summer 2011 collections are already in full swing, NY Fashion Week already over!!! I thought post about a detail I've been keeping my eye on lately, Tassels. Will they or won't they be a trend next summer? I suppose we'll soon see. I'm sure, like me, a lot of you like to browse blogs and I came across some great images of tassels at they're best...

They're a great way of adding interest and a bit of glamour to a basic item. Images here from the cherry blossom girl, Zara and Tommy ton shows these details off beautifully. I particularly love the colour combination of the last image.

Julian Louie's Spring Summer 2011 collection displayed them as accessories and adorned to garments. A very small but beautifully constructed collection with tassels as a complement.

Perhaps handicrafts will make a return next year, I'll definitely be looking out for some.

Its Live

Here it is people H&M is Live, shop online to your hearts delight. I'm particularly excited that we now get to shop the home section! I have some friends in the land of Fin, who have ordered me some great bedding from there in the past so I am thrilled we now have this option.

So pretty... so sleek...

exactly the words I'd use to describe any Stella McCartney collections....

and also Thandie Newton, who's style I love.

Especially when she's wearing Stella!!! A stella look for sure.

I've always loved lace having said that I don't own very much that's lacy however I have always wanted a scalloped hem lace skirt.

Carrie Bradshaw wore a beautiful one in Sex and The City The Movie lined with a deep purple, Geraldine Saglio of French Vogue wore a beautiful version, Balmain maybe? Or this 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt another designer favourite of mine. I do hope the high street comes up with one soon for me.

I can't wait to see what the new fashion season will bring, which kicked off this week in New York. The spring 2010 have started. Bring on Fashion Week.

This is just too much...

I know fashion and e-commerce have proved to be big business, but the latest is too much excitement for the past two weeks....

H&M online!!! First Zara last week and come September 16th we (UK) will now be able to shop H&M online, something that's been available in Europe for a while which I would always peruse. Now almost all my favourite shops will be available online! I now don't have to leave the house to browse my favourite high street collections. The high street is really becoming a force to be reckoned with, even when its not on the high street!!!

Sale of the day

Vintage fashions and styling always remains a massive influence in the fashion world be it inspiration from old photographs, films, music or a combination of them all. Every season shapes and styles from years gone past are regurgitated and reinterpreted. None more so than the tea dress, a classic day wear item for a women's wardrobe restyled by the likes of Marc Jacobs, Luella and Mui Mui.

There are a fair few avid followers of all things vintage, how successful was Vintage at Goodwood this year? Where ever it is you take your inspiration from, be it the catwalk, movies, the bygone era or fellow fashionistas here's my recommendation...

H&M Vintage style tea dress

Tea dresses are so great and versatile when trying to get that vintage edge to your style, wear on their own with clogs, sandals or brogues. Or like fellow blogger from Liebemarlene Vintage; socks and clogs, retro sunnies and a smile ;-)

or wear them layered up for winter. Sienna and Keira in the Edge of Love wore with chunky knit cardies, wellies, or layer up with fine knits as seen here.

Which ever way, tea dresses are here to stay, whatever the weather!

Magazine Madness

Don't you just love the beginning of the month when all your favourite magazines are out again. I literally can't wait for the post to come the start of the every month, anticipating who's gonna be on the covers, if there's going to be any items I'd give my right arm for, or when there's a great read. Mine have all arrived, now I just need the time to curl up and read them from cover to cover.... ahh bliss.

Bambi Brows

Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Australian model of the moment...

Forget the days when you plucked your eyebrows to within a inch of their life. Big brows are beautiful and so is model Bambi, an apt name for such a wild and raw beauty.

She reminds me of another of my model favourites Natalia Vodianova but in a much more rock chic kinda way.

Mercury Music To My Ears

The Mercury Music Awards took place last night. In with a shot was the lovely Corinne Bailey Rae but even though she didn't win thought I'd post how amazing she looked...

I love Stella McCartney, she always produces clothes that women really want to wear and this dress was a real favourite of mine and I think Corinne looks sensational. I'm currently looking to make a bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding and I feel really inspired by this one.

I really like the idea for someone not very tall wearing a long dress with a shorter lining or having a short front like this Stella dress. I think the concept of this dress is something to really consider as a short (5ft3) lady.

Sale of the day

Must be a mothers influence, cool mother and daughter duo Pearl and Daisy Lowe both names on the fashion circuit. Pearl is known for her lace interior furnishings and glam goth style. Daisy is known for that body and her concoction of rock and pretty styling. She bares an obvious influence to her mother yet brings something new and fresh.

Pearl Lowe's collaborated with Peacocks for the British high street and produced a pretty, girly, vintage inspired collection and was modelled by daughter Daisy. I'm selling a great item from the collection.

Would look great as an easy summer top or great for pretty sleepwear. Take inspiration from the model as muse herself...

Lusting for Leopard

A big trend this season (but one that always seems to be there) has to be Leopard Print. I like to think of this print as a classic; just more of a trend particularly this season. I've always been a fan ever since the, dare I say it, Spice Girl days, when Mel B sported anything leopard print. I went out with that inspiration and brought my very first leopard print flared!!! leggings. Whilst it may not have been my finest moment my love for leopard prints stuck, and this season is a real treat.

Available in almost every shade,  varying sizes and on almost everything.  I'm currently lusting after literally anything leopard print....

 Mango Jewellery

Topshop Handbags

Hanky Panky Underwear

Skirts from Asos, Whistles and Mango.

Quite frankly I'll take it all. Let the Leopard print obsession commence.
